Someone by your side when you need it most!

A doula is a trained companion who is not a healthcare professional and who supports another individual through a significant health-related experience, such as childbirth, miscarriage, induced abortion or stillbirth, or non-reproductive experiences such as dying.

Testimonials

“I reached out to Marie after a friend of mine told me about her from the community. After a brief discussion, I knew she would be perfect to support my daughter during her first pregnancy. Marie was so warm and knowledgeable. She often came with muffins or fruit and would show my daughter how to sit on exercise balls and how to relieve a lot of her discomforts. More than that, she challenged my daughter to advocate for herself. To learn all that she can and to ask for the things she needs to help her be the best parent she can be. It was a great gift for not only Taea, my daughter, but also Nina-Simone, her daughter. Marie is like family now. After the birth she came over with teas and meals. She shared missing pieces of the birth experience and loved on our new bundle of joy. I would recommend her as a doula, as an ear to listen, as someone to invite into your family.”

“Marie and I met when our kids started in the same sports program. Immediately I knew she was a gem. One day after a game I asked if we could chat. I don’t know why but I felt like I could talk freely with her. Without me actually saying those words to her, she affirmed that I could be transparent and that I was valuable. I almost cried right there, with this stranger. She invited me to do guided meditation with her and before long we were meeting once a week for support. I am grateful for her friendship and her non-judgmental advice. She has even made time for FaceTime calls. I appreciate her so much, I would recommend her for peer to peer support.”

“After my first baby, I knew I wanted more help and a different birth experience with my second. Marie was recommended as a postpartum doula and it was one of the best decisions. She came over and we went over all the little fine points that a nesting mother could focus on and she remembered every little detail. She was there on time every day and was very attentive to not just me and my newborn but also to my five year old and partner. My partner and I decided on co-nursing and Marie supported us with info and teas by showing us various positions for comfort. Her cooking is phenomenal! She prepared lentils and other things we loved to eat. Her time in our home made our transition into a family of four that much easier.”
